Ecker Textiles was founded in 1868 as Fredrix by businessman, chemist and inventor, E.H. Friedrichs. He was the first American to manufacture artist canvas for the trade. Although we have advanced our craft of manufacturing artist canvas significantly since the 1800’s, the product we make today retains the very best qualities of the original process and the surfaces we've traditionally made. We combine our 150 year heritage and innovative formula for premium, world renowned quality textile products to bring comprehensive value to you.

Ecker Textiles proudly manufactures over three dozen styles of roll canvas in over 175 different sizes, ensuring the perfect surface for every artist, project and occasion.

Our products are woven and coated to custom specifications using the highest quality raw materials available. Without bleach or other added harmful chemicals, Ecker products are primed in the USA under strict supervision and precise quality standards. Our acrylic gesso is formulated using 100% virgin acrylics unlike many competitors that use vinyl acrylic and poor quality fillers. As a commitment to our environment, we have a goal to have zero percent waste in our factory throughout our manufacturing process.
